A few weeks ago, my family had the incredible privilege of serving in Guatemala alongside Integrity International and Asocaviva. With a team of 11 from the US, we partnered with well drillers, translators, and families from the community to drill two wells that will provide something many of us take for granted every day—clean, safe drinking water. Watching water flow for the first time was more than seeing a successful project; it was witnessing hope rise from the ground.
For several years now, my daughter has been raising money through her lemonade stand to donate and provide wells in remote villages in Guatemala, and this year, we went down to be the Hands and Feet of Jesus.
These wells represent healthier families, children who won't have to walk miles to collect water, and communities that have a greater opportunity to flourish. And these wells were placed on church property- free to the community- but an opportunity for people to hear about Jesus! It was a powerful reminder that simple acts of generosity can create life-changing impact.
Our team also had the joy of serving with Beeline Wheelchairs, where we helped provide wheelchairs and encouragement to children with mobility challenges. Seeing the smiles on their faces and the gratitude of their families was unforgettable. A wheelchair is more than a piece of equipment—it offers the whole family Freedom.
Throughout the week, we were reminded that ministry is about meeting both physical and spiritual needs. Whether through safe drinking water or restored mobility. Every act of compassion shows the love of Jesus in a tangible way.
As I reflect on this trip, I'm reminded of Jesus' words in Matthew 25:40: "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." The mission field isn't just a place we visit—it's an invitation to partner with God and the work of bringing hope to the world. If you've ever wondered whether you could make a difference, the answer is yes. You can pray. You can give. You can go.
Every gift, every volunteer, and every act of faith becomes part of someone's story, like Sergio, Fernando, Yuli or Liam (some of the people we met along the way). Together, we can continue bringing safe drinking water, hygiene training, and the life-changing love of Christ to communities that need it most.
